Mr. Deep

Pierluigi Puppato Alias “Deep".
Born in Turin on 13 February 1980.
At the age of 15 together with his school friends Pierluigi discovered that graffiti was the way to express himself. There was little known about graffiti in the small town where he grew up outside of Turin. During the summer of '95 an event took place called l'Hip Hop Village where the 4 sides of street culture were represented. This is where his story begins to take form and where graffiti becomes part of his everyday life. His main means of expression, the spray-can leads him to his self-taught style. Constantly studying letters, the construction of letters and transforming the letters into abstract.
His continuous searching allows him to adapt his letters to any surface to the point where he is able to just improvise. Leaving his sketches behind Deep takes his graffiti directly to the wall with his only rule: dynamism. This direction or choice brings on a new artistic journey where he concentrates on the lines which intertwine and writhes within its self. Coloring is another fundamental part of graffiti in order to distinguish shapes, geometries, depth and light.

Deep's first crew D.O.C. (Drop of Color) brought him in contact with local jams, events and associations where they were invited to paint their first commissions. After D.O.C. Deep's next crew KNZ took things to the next level and this is where as a crew they gained recognition in the international graffiti scene. With KNZ, Deep participated in important national and international events, exhibiting in Italy, London, Munich and Berlin.
KNZ also opened the first go to place for graffiti artists in Turin with the store Konsequenz Graffiti Shop (today Spot Art and Supplies).
The shop closed in 2013 but the journey for Deep continues.
