Friday 1st November 2019, from 17:30 to 21:00, during the hottest weekend in Turin, between Artissima and Club to Club, and in the coolest gallery of the Piedmontese capital, the Galo Art Gallery and Drago Publisher is proud to present the exhibition Memento Mori: All Stars. The gallery will host two individual exhibitions representing the latest publications of the publishing house Dago. The book Crash Kid, a Hip Hop legacy is about the birth and evolution of the Hip Hop phenomenon in Italy.
Crash Kid, a Hip Hop Legacy, is a book that, with more than 400 images - most of them unpublished - documents the life of Massimo "Crash Kid" Colonna, from the first Hip Hop concerts of the 80s to the birth of "Zulu Party” Crash Kid, reveals the dedication and influence that the artist has given to the whole scene and confirms it as a legendary reference point for the movement.
Vangelo,by Paolo Cenciarelli, is a book that focuses on the Italian Rap scene at the end of the Nineties. This is the background of the photographer Paolo Cenciarelli who, between 1998 and 2015, told the story of an epochal change, the entrance of the Italian Underground into a new millennium made of music, concerts, tattoos and a constant counter culture under track.
Friday night will be accompanied by DJ Set by DJ NextONE A journey into his Music.
On the occasion of Memento Mori we will also be exhibiting the works of Lucamaleonte,
JBRock with his iconic character, Alice Pasquini who will announce the anthology of her
works Crossroads, Niccolò Berretta and the photographic research done at Station Termini in Rome as well as the dripping of Pepe Maniak that anticipates the release of the book Trap Tattoo.These are just to name a few of the artists that will be part of the Drago 2020 catalog.
Saturday 02/10 and Sunday 03/10 for the occasion of the hottest week in Torino we will be open with music by Pablo Selecta (esf records).
For the duration of the exhibition, it will be possible to browse and buy a wide selection of Drago books at a special price at the Galo Art Gallery.
