Mauro149, Rems182, Mach505,and Ninja1, graffiti and graphic design enthusiasts, meet in the late 90’s amid abandoned places and suburbs, where they first experiment with street art. A passion and a friendship which culminate in a common project started in 2003 under the name Truly Design Urban Artists.
Commitment to constant research for new forms of visual language enable the collective to progress technically and experimentally, leading to showcasing work at collective and personal exhibitions in foundations, museums, and private galleries in Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and New York. Their artwork has been published by Taschen, Victionary, Gestalten, Mondadori, and the most important international street art blogs.
Four eclectic and absolutely complementary entities confer on Truly Design a complex artistic personality, the result of Mauro149’s psychedelic and visionary artwork, of the more technical and cryptically symbolic art of Mach505, of Ninja1’s timeless calligraphic quotes, and of Rems182’s doubleregister painting, which is expressed through canvasses hovering between figuration and abstraction, whilst maintaining a code closer to his origins as graffiti artist on wall. The four artists’ characteristics converge throughout the years in a project which identifies them amid the international street art panorama: the use of anamorphic painting applied to urban art, which generates visionary 3D images resulting from an optical illusion created from perspective and architecture, as yet one of Truly Design’s most distinctive elements.
